Welcome and Check-in Procedure for Guests staying at the campus

When a guest arrives

  • Welcome our guest to Samma Karuna and Koh Phangan and ask for their name and kindly ask for him/her to wait a moment until you find the reservation.
    • If you cannot find their name, kindly ask the person to sit down for a moment and call the welcome centre manager to address the issue.
      DO NOT TELL OUR GUEST THAT YOU CANNOT FIND THE RESERVATION

  • Ask our guest  kindly to take a seat and:
    • Hand over the check-in form,
    • Provide a free Welcome Drink
    • Provide a refreshing towel.

  • Copy Passport: Make a copy of guest’s passport using the printer (put in on the scanner and press the green button)

  • Form. Kindly request to complete the check-in form. Forms are located in the blank forms folder.

  • Wrist band. Put one on the guest’s arm or ankle. Ask him/her to wear it all the time. The colour changes every Monday for Awakening & Healing students. YTTC Students wear always orange colour.

  • Massages. You can check on our website how many sessions are included in the package. For example if the student has 11 days package he gets 4 massages. You give him a card of Papaya massage salon and put 4 massages there and cross the other space. If you can’t find how many massages the person has included please kindly ask the student to come back to the welcome centre during a time you know the welcome centre manager will be available to collect voucher for massage.
  • Bag & Initial Hand out. Give to the guest a SK Welcome Bag and put inside the content depending on the course they are taking as follow:

  • A&H (Yoga holidays. Backpackers, Pre-Vipassana): Awakening & Healing Hand-out and massage voucher (if applicable).

  • Detox: Place staff on the bag according to the following table:

YTTC and TTTC Students get their Bag during the introduction meeting so you don’t have to provide them a bag.

  • Program. If our guest comes for our Awakening & Healing or Detox program provide him/her a copy of the A&H Calendar and kindly explain him/her the activities and procedure to register. (NOTE: “Just Detox” program has access to yoga activity only).

  • SK Guidelines video. Using the Yoga Shop Ipad, show our guest the Samma Karuna Guidelines Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2WuHxqUexc
  • Meeting with Senior Teacher. Students staying at SK as well as students holding weekly and monthly passes should have regular meetings with a senior teacher. You should schedule all meetings in advance accoding to the interviews management procedure.
  • WiFi: Inform our guest about our WiFi password: “happiness”
  • Check the room. Open the bungalow and check that the bed is done and the bungalow and toilet/bathroom looks clean. If the bungalow is not ready contact House Care staff.
  • Show the school
  • Introduce to restaurant staff and detox manager (if detox)
  • Check in registration. Open the Package-Students list Excel Sheet and complete with the name of the staff member that executed the Check in with the student (column Q)..
