Audience: Management& school teacher/facilitators.

Description: This document describes the different teacher’s schema available at the school, their benefits & requirements.

Independent teacher renting facilities

Description: Sole teacher renting facilities, the school’s fee goes according of the services contracted by the teacher.

Requirements: Pay the school’s fee for using facilities. Slot for classes are restricted outside the Awakening & Healing program timetables.

References or demo may be required.

Benefits: No applicable.

Samma Karuna meditation facilitator


Description: This kind of role is usually meant for experienced volunteers or people with proven experience in the field. These events are usually run on donations or for free.

Requirements: 

  1. Approval by events manager based on experience.
  2. Adherence to Samma Karuna’s Teachers Rules and Code of Ethics.

      Benefits: 

  • Meditation facilitators may teach at 7:15am and 2:30pm slot.
  • Free access to classes of Awakening & Healing program during the time the teacher is regularly teaching at the school.


Samma Karuna Senior events teacher

Description: This role is for teachers that feel aligned with the school’s teachings and energy and feel like sharing their skills with others.

Requirements: 

  1. Interview, demo and approval by the events manager.
  2. Adherence to Samma Karuna’s Teachers Rules and Code of Ethics.

Benefits:

  • Special events teacher may teach at any slow without restriction.
  • Free access to classes of Awakening & Healing program during the time the teacher is regularly teaching at the school.


Samma Karuna Yoga Teacher

Description: Role is meant for hatha yoga teachers that feel aligned with the school’s teachings and energy and feel like sharing their skills with others.

In this schema the teacher teaches both students from the school and drop-in students.

Requirements: 

  • An interview, references, demo and events manager approval of the teacher is required.
  • At least 6 months and 100hs. teaching experience for Samma Karuna certified teacher.
  • At least 1 year and 200hs. teaching experience for Samma Karuna certified teacher.
  • Adherence to Samma Karuna’s rules and code of ethics.

Waiting List:

Teacher’s waiting list will be prioritize in the following way:

  • Samma Karuna senior yoga teachers over regular yoga teachers.
  • Teacher that have already teach at the school over new teachers.
  • Teachers with proven long experience teaching over less experienced teachers.
  • Samma Karuna certified teachers will have priority over teachers certified in other schools.

Benefits: 

  • Please see document: “Payment policy for teachers” or ask at the Welcome Center.
  • Additionally Yoga Teachers have free access to Awakening & Healing classes during the time the teacher is regularly teaching classes at the school.

Samma Karuna Senior Yoga Teacher

Description: Role is for experienced teachers only and has to be approved by the school’s director.

Requirements: Outstanding performance, six months time or more teaching at the school.

Benefits: 

  • Same as their previous role plus:
  1. Issue of certificates on behalf of the school.
  2. Possibility to teach at Samma Karuna’s Yoga Teacher Trainings.
  3. Priority on booking facilities and teaching.
  4. 30% discount on workshops organization and facilities costs.
  5. Free booking of school facilities for individual sessions.
  6. Prime time schema for classes and workshops & promotion on school’s schedule & general design and promotion. 
  7. Full access to school’s program
