Abstract: The following document describe the basis for registering and exchanging of working hour for Samma Karuna teachers on monthly salary. The intension of this document is to describe a procedure that will help to have a fair exchange between working hours and payment as agreed per contract.

How to register your working hours?

Every week when submitting your Weekly Update Facilitator report, count the number of hours you taught class (the length of the class is based on the Awakening & Healing schedule and does not consider if you ran late) + 30 minutes slot for every online and face to face interview that you offered.

Kindly make one single line for every interview and class when submitting the report.

How to exchange your working hours?

  • Working hours will be registered week by week and closed at the end of every calendar month.

  • If you working hours are less than the ones agreed at your contract this will be registered and pushed forward to the next month of your availability.
    • For example:

If your working contract is of 4 hours a day, a 30 days calendar will require you to work a total of:

(30 – 4.34 days off) x 4 = 102 hour a month.

If by the end of the month you have done 96 hours, an outstanding balance of 6 hours will move forwarded to the next month. On the other hand, if by the end of month you have done 110 hours, a positive balance will be forwarded for you to the next month.

  • An outstanding balance means that you will have to recover the hours you didn’t work the previous month.

    • A positive balance will mean that you will be entitled to take extra time off for next month for the amount of extra time you work the previous month.
  • You are entitled to take a partial or full amount of the extra hours you worked the previous month at your discretion, however the times and dates you are entitled to take these hours will remain at the discretion of the management of the school.

  • Extra hours as well as outstanding hours are neither discountable nor cashable but they do not expire either.

  • We ask you to kindly inform management when you monthly hours are close to be completed in order to re-adjust your remaining working hours of that month.
