Abstract: The following document details the policy of the school with regard to the teacher training and facilitator training internships. The responsible person for all interships to run well is the events manager.
The general guidance for all TTCs
The schedule:
The internship should last for 4 weeks (28 days) with one student as lead teacher per class and one or more assistintant teachers.
All internships formal starting date is on a Monday, however the first teaching practice can be as well a Tuesday or Wednesday.
For courses in Thailand: The teaching schedule should be made before the internship starts. The course coordinator should create the schedule as well as a WhatsApp group with all students where the teaching schedule can be shared.
For courses in Greece: The teaching schedule should be made by the events mangager as well as a WhatsApp group for the students practicing teaching.
Supervisor or mentor role:
The internship classes should have a supervisor/mentor role, and after each class, the supervisor should give class feedback. Its responsability of the senior teachers of the course to choose a suitable supervisor.
Period of internship and attendance:
The students should confirm their internship before it starts and should commit to 4 weeks of internship (in some cases it can also be 2 weeks). The students should commit to all classes, which means they should take part in the internship program by giving classes and taking (also to support their classmates).
Dates:
For breathwork TTC: May (one week after the course in Greece finishes), August (right after the course) and December (starting one week after the course in Greece is finished).
For Yoga TTC: February, April, July, September & November. Starting on Monday after the course finishes (one day gap between the end of the course and the date of starting the internship).
For Tantra TTC:
May (one week after the course in Greece finishes), September (right after the course) and December (starting one week after the course in Greece is finished).
Exceptions:
In case the Tantra and Breathwork students can’t make the internship for the above mentions months, we should see the possibility for them to do other months, but that will be out of schedule and we can’t promise how many times they can teach. As we might have different courses, TTCs and our schedule can be full. But the school will do its best to give the students possibility to teach.
Intention behind the internship:
Our focus is on building a friendly and conscious community where everyone can grow in a safe and mindful way, thus the students besides giving free classes, also can participate to Samma Karuna workshops, classes and TTCs as helpers. When we say Samma Karuna workshops, we mean the ones that are facilitated by Samma Karuna teachers.
Each teacher chooses his or her assistant, but besides that up to 2 students (depends on a workshop) can participate to it to help if needed and learn. This means, that Tantra internship students can participate as helpers to Tantra workshops and Tantra TTCs, classes and Breathwork students to Breathwork TTCs, classes and Workshops.
About the halls for the internship:
As Tantra and Breathwork internship should be done in the Awakening hall, it should be aligned with the Awakening and Healing program to not overlap to the activities that are done in that hall and the preferable time is 11 am as by 1 pm the hall should be free for A&H class. The class should last maximum 2 hours.
Yoga TTC internship can be done in any of our open halls and the preferable time is 11 am and 12:30 pm. The classes can last maximum 1,5 hrs.
Internship promotion
All internships should be registered at the Awakening & Healing calendar and promoted in Social Media, Samma Karuna group (only free advertizment).
