How to write the daily blackboard

One person doing the 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm shift writes the activities of the following day on the blackboard. Here are the instructions:

1) First, wash the blackboard thoroughly. Use a sponge with lots of water and clean both sides of the blackboard several times, rinsing the sponge well each time, so that when the board dries, there will be no chalk residue.

2) Get a copy of the “Teachers Sign-In form” from the Welcome Centre.

3) Legibly write each activity with its hall code as follows:

BH=Buddha Hall

AWH=Awakening Hall

OH=Osho Hall

AT=Atisha Hall

Let your creativity flow, making it clear, informative and nice to look at. Always use a different color for different activities to make the board easy to read. The photo on the right shows a good example of a prepared board.

4) At the bottom of the board, add the next upcoming workshop and the number of days before it begins. This is at the bottom of the monthly printed schedule, where it says “Upcoming workshops”. For example: Today is December 24 and the calendar says the next workshop is Reiki I on December 29. Then you write: “5 Days till Reiki I”.

5) Re-read the board you have prepared and make sure the times, activities, halls assignment and spelling are correct.

6) When you are done, place the blackboard under the roof in front of the Welcome Centre so, if it rains, it will be protected. Throughout the day, check the board, in case the rain washes it out or in case it has to be updated due to a last-minute change.
