How to calculate a partial refund

Abstract: The following section explains how to calculate a partial refund for an Awakening & Healing package (including yoga holiday packages) or Detox package.

Audience: Bookings manager and management

• X = Price paid by the student online
• Y= Number of nights the student has stayed
• Z= Number of nights the student paid for.
• B= 17% Bookings fee

                Amount to refund = X – [ X * (Y/Z) ] – ( X * 0.17)

Example: One Month of Awakening & Healing (28 days) type C with a cost of USD 1826

Student did stay for 12 nights only.

Refund = 1826 – [1826 * (12/28)] – (1826 * 0.17) =

If the cost of the refund is over USD 200, you must get a written authorization from your manager. Once you have finished this calculation send an email to him in order to confirm your calculations and authorize you to issue the refund.

Good practice: Avoid showing this calculation to the customer unless he specifically asks for it in order to avoid further conflicts.
