House Keeping Daily cleaning procedure for bungalows

Abstract:

This document describes the responsibilities of the cleaning staff of the school and the cleaning procedures that are implemented. This document is based on 2 staff for cleaning the bungalows and facilities in the school.

General Guidance to provide service to bungalows

Towels on bungalows:

  • 1 Big Towel and 1 Hand towel per single bed.
  • 2 Big Towel and 2 Hand towel per double bed.

Bungalows cleaning:

All bungalows must be clean every day, either check-out, soft, hard cleaning.

Daily Task Sheet:

The daily task sheet will be given to you upon arrival at the welcome center 5 minutes before the start of your shift. You will receive a new one every day. Here you will have an overview of what tasks need to be completed during the day.

Cleaning Procedure


Bungalow Cleaning

There are three cleaning types for bungalows:

  • Soft
    – If there is a tennant currently staying in the bungalow, you will be asked to complete a soft clean. You will complete this clean on all bungalows daily unless a customer has put up a “do not disturb” sign.
  • Hard
    – If a new tenant is checking in or a current tenant has requested this, then you will be asked to complete a hard clean.
  • Checkout – If a tenant is checking out of a bungalow then you will be asked to complete a checkout clean. The checkout clean of a bungalow should be completed during the “check out room” cleaning period as seen in the weekly timetable.


NOTE:
The checkout clean and the hard clean are the same except what time of day they are performed.

The tasks that need completing for each type of clean are as follows:

Soft Cleaning Procedure:

Sweep the Floor and the Outside Stairs

Put objects in their place (e.g. kettle, hairdryer, laundry basket)

Make the Bed (e.g. fold sheet/blanket …)

Replace any Used Towels (2 big towel, 2 little towel)

Hard Cleaning Procedure:

Clean the Toilet

Replace Toiletteries – 2 x Shampoo, 2 x Shower Gel, 2 x Toilet Roll

Empty the Garbage Bins

Spray Perfume

Mop the Floor

Change Bed Sheets and Covers**

Clean the Furniture and Windows

Clean the Bathroom Mirror, Shelves, Walls and Sink

Clean Inside and Outside the Fridge

Take Dirty Items to the Laundry

** Changing bedsheets and covers

There are 7 elements you need to take into consideration when changing the bed-sheets and covers:


Every bed should have:

  1. Sheet for mattress stand (old white sheet..only  to be changed once a month)
  2. Anti-bed bags mattress protector
  3. A bed-sheet to cover the mattress
  4. A second bed-sheet on top of the mattress cover
  5. A duvet with duvet cover sheet (only for bungalows 6,7 and 9 with double bed)
  6. A decoration banner
  7. A Pillow cover


Toilet Clean (for Soft and Hard cleaning)



The toilet clean applies to all toilets on campus, whether these are bungalow toilets or public campus toilets. The following tasks should be completed

Sweep the floor

Mop the Floor

Clean the Mirror, Shelves, Walls and Sink

Replace Shampoo, Soap, Shower Gel, Toilet Roll

Empty and clean the Garbage Bins

Replace Used Towels

Spray Perfume

Clean the Toilets
