Audience: SK Facilitators
Before the training starts
- Test sound
- Install white noise/black screen machine and test it
- Calculate the location of all students inside the hall, make sure there is enough space for everyone
- Ensure helpers understand each student should have it’s own mat and the room should be warmed up before the class starts
- Ensure safety of students by placing cushions around the columns and other dangerous areas
- Make sure you have a notebook with all music tracks
Intro class stages
- Intro the subject of the class
- Play the videos
- Explain the stages yourself and demo them
- Open a space for questions/answers
Notes:
- Demo every stage “How to do it” and “How not to do it”
- Emphasize to every student to do the meditation with totality.. with complete awareness of what is going on inside and outside themselves
- Make sure all students understand they should land on their heels during the jumping in stage 3.
- Calculate the time you have for the lecture, the explicative videos itself take over an hour. You may need to reduce the length of some of them to adapt the class to your timeslot.
- Introduce the “bicycle alternative” to students that cannot jump on stage 3 due to an injury.
During daily class
- Dynamic for these groups should be strong
- Make sure you encourage students during stages 1, 2 and 3
- Ensure the white noise machine is running before starting every class and only switch it off before stage 4 starts
- Encourage students that work with totality by redirecting your voice towards them with helpful instructions.
- Instructions to students should always be given to the whole group even if they are actually meant for a particular student.
- Inform Ishi about students not working properly or with particular issues.
- No guidance needed before starting the class from day 2
General guidance per stage:
First stage is about generating the energy required for the rest of the meditation. As much as the students are able to go fully into this stage as best the other stages will follow.
Key sentences of this stage:
Redirect your voice towards the students that are birthing less intensively with the words “Breath breath, breath…!”
Second stage is about going fully into your emotion remaining the watcher.
Please note :.. it’s not necessarily about shouting. Make sure the music is playing at a very high volume, outside speakers with white sound must be turn-on and both doors of the hall must be closed.
Key sentences of this stage:
- “If emotions are not coming up, just start moving and making sounds.. fake it fake it… until you make it”
- Redirect your voice towards the students that are less active with the words “Move, move .. move.. make sounds .. move..”
Third stage: Remember to switch off the white sound. You need to make sure students are tired enough for the next stage to be effective. Encourage the students to keep jumping and make sure all students land on their heels
Key sentences of this stage:
- “Jump jump jump!”
- “As much as you give as much as you get …”
- “Keep jumping no matter what!”.
Fourth stage: Make sure all students have their hands up (over the head) by the beginning of this stage.
Try to avoid talking but during the first days you may say some words during the first 2 to 3 minutes of the stage.
Key sentences of this stage:
- Here you are facing your biggest enemy, your reactive mind
- This stage is not about will nor determination, this stage is about letting go.. its about no reaction, about surrendering
- This stage is about stopping to look for the future as a better place.. imagine the next stage will never start.. can you surrender?
- There is a treasure behind this stage.. the opportunity for you to learn how to differentiate pain from suffering.
Fifth stage:
- Free dance, no guidance needed.
- Ensure students don’t lay down or do something else but allowing the body to move with the music.
